Nanbudo World Championships – Yaoundé 2026: thank you all!
From 1 to 4 October 2026, Yaoundé hosted the Nanbudo World Championships. For four days, the great Nanbudo family came together in Cameroon for an exceptional competition marked by sporting excellence, respect and friendship between peoples.
On behalf of the World Nanbudo Federation, we would like to extend our most sincere thanks to all the nations that made the journey. Your presence, often at the cost of considerable effort, turned this event into a true global celebration of our discipline. Thank you to the athletes, coaches, referees, national federation officials and all the volunteers who contributed to the success of this event.
We also reiterate our deep gratitude to Cameroon, to the Cameroonian Nanbudo Federation, and to all the authorities and partners who welcomed us with remarkable hospitality.
Finally, we extend our warmest congratulations to all the medallists. Your performances reflect the work carried out day after day in your clubs and countries, and they are a source of inspiration for all Nanbudokas. Congratulations also to every competitor: stepping onto the tatami at a World Championships is, in itself, a fine victory.
And now, on to 2030!
The WNF is pleased to announce that the call for applications to host the 2030 World Championships is now open.
Interested national federations will receive an official letter in the coming weeks, together with the specifications document setting out the conditions and procedures for submitting applications.
We are counting on your enthusiasm to make this next edition another great moment in the history of Nanbudo.
